How to Use Luna Beads

For those of you who are new to Kegel exercising, try out a single bead to start.

Before you insert your Luna Beads, apply a water-based lubricant to the beads and your vaginal opening.

Then, slowly and carefully insert the beads as far back in your vagina as you feel comfortable, usually where you would normally place a tampon.

Make sure the withdrawal cord hangs outside your vagina and isn’t tucked in with the beads. (If you can use a tampon, you can use these beads.)

Please remember to keep the balls on the retraction leash.

One unfortunate user inserted the beads without it and was unable to retrieve them without assistance. (I bet that was a fun ER visit.)

How Long Should You Leave The Beads Inside?

When it comes to how long you should keep Luna Beads in your vagina, it ultimately depends on you. I keep mine in for a few hours a day. An average of 6 hours should be enough, but this varies from woman to woman. If you’re just starting out, begin with 20 minutes.

The Luna Beads shouldn’t cause you any discomfort. If they do, stop the exercise right away and consult your gynecologist for advice on how to use Kegel balls without hurting yourself. (You don’t want to feel the burn with this exercise, trust me.)

How To Clean Luna Beads

It is a breeze to take care of these kegel balls. After every use, you can simply clean it with warm water and antibacterial soap. Then store it neatly in the satin bag.

If you use lubricant while using the beads, it is advised to only use a water-based lubricant.

Other types of lubricants may damage the withdrawal cord attached since it is made of silicone.

(That would be bad. It could snap and those little suckers will be rolling around in you for who knows how long.) The decision is completely up to you.

To ensure that your LUNA Beads remain hygienic, be sure to separate the beads from the harness and wash each item individually.

Some people choose to boil their beads as a way to clean them. (I wonder if they boil their dildos too)

If you choose to boil them you shouldn’t leave them in for more than five minutes.

What Are the Major Differences among Luna Beads Classic, Luna Beads Mini and Luna Beads Noir?

One difference between the Classic, Mini, and Noir is size. The mini and Noir are smaller at 1.1 mm than the classic which is 1.4 mm.

Another difference is the the Noir only comes with two black balls (You might want to get that checked.) which weigh 37 grams.

Noise Level While Using It

My Experience with the LELO LUNA Beads

When I started using my new LELO LUNA Beads, I was a bit anxious and unsure how to insert them. I tried standing up, like I do when putting in a tampon, but it didn’t work. (I tried standing on my head too but no luck.)

Then, I realized that lying on my back made the whole process much easier. Applying a bit of lubricant also helped make the process smoother.

I can feel a small shift inside of me when I move caused by the light tapping of (my inner demons as they try to escape or…) the inner weight against the sides of the shell.

It’s noticeable, but not overly distracting. It may not make your body massively clench, but I’m confident that my pc muscle are consistently doing small micro-clenches. This is something I’m especially aware of when I take these balls out. (That’s what she said.)

I’ve tried just about everything when it comes to using the LELO LUNA Beads. (Such as scuba diving, playing football, and armed robbery.) I discovered (A brave new world! Just kidding.)

I discovered these little balls really do work best when I’m active and my body is in motion. Unfortunately, kegel balls simply don’t work as effectively when you’re just sitting around. (Too bad couch potatoes. Time to get up!)

They require your body to move and shift – the more you move, the more your inner weights knock around, and the more your PC muscle contract.

For this reason, these Kegel balls are awesome for when you’re out and about running errands. (Or playing twister or doing the hokey pokey.)

I love to put them in for trips to the store, walks in the park, and even when I’m practicing my audition piece for So You Think You Can Dance. (Is that still a thing?) I’ve even gone so far as to practice using my pogo stick with them in – let me tell you, that really gets the inner weights moving. (Reminds me of a pinball machine.)

It even gets my natural lubricant going a bit, which makes the experience that much better.

When I received them, I was a bit worried that the two pink beads (the lighter ones) wouldn’t be powerful enough for me, as my PC muscles are quite strong. Fortunately, the customizable feature allows me to mix and match the beads to find the perfect level of challenge. (I also make friendship bracelets with them.)

I’m currently using it with one blue bead and one pink bead, but I’m determined to eventually work up to two blue beads.

Look, it’s not that they’re bad or faulty, but I’m kinda tight in there (at least now before I give birth to a new soul:), so they don’t work for me. I don’t have to make an effort to keep them in, even though they ARE small. Another thing to note is PLEASE KEEP THEM IN WITH WITH A THREAD. I made a huge mistake by removing them out of their shell, and inserting just the beads. Boy I got paranoid when, after 7 minutes of trying, I wasn’t able to get them out w/o any thread to pull!! Ladies, don’t repeat my mistake.

I really don't know how I feel about this product just yet. I can say without a doubt, they are NOISY. This is my first time trying out any of these exercise balls and I am not sure that I am using them right. They make a lot of clacking noise that is very audible when walking so you can't wear them in public. I tried that today and had to put my keys in my hand and jingle them so the clacking could not be heard. You would think that being inside the body would muffle the sound.

I ordered the smallest size and they are still too big. I am not sure how they could fall out like some reviewers say. Perhaps I'm just not very "open". They do feel nice while inside and I have worn them to work all day. The sound is a little loud at first but they seem to move farther up and the sounds go away. I have to readjust them to feel like my muscles are working, otherwise it's kinda like wearing a really weird tampon. I wish they were made out of steel and were smooth. Perhaps I should have gone with the other brand on here that is. I do like the concept but I don't think they are helping strengthen anything for me. Also, I'm not sure how I would even wear the bigger size if the small is too big for me.
